LOCALLY BRED DOG OF THE YEAR POINTS SYSTEM

At a meeting of the General Committee of the B. K. C.
held on June 6th, 1996, the Committee set into place the following
points system for ascertaining the winner of the Locally Bred Dog of the
Year Competition.

BASIC POINTS

BEST LOCALLY BRED IN SEX

Numbers taken as to the amount of locally bred dogs that compete within the sex at the show.

  1. 1 – 4 dogs: 5 Points
  2. 5 – 10 dogs: 10 points
  3. 11 dogs and over: 15 points

BEST LOCALLY BRED IN BREED

Numbers taken as to the amount of locally bred dogs that compete within the breed at the show.

  1. 1 – 4 dogs: 15 Points
  2. 5 – 10 dogs: 20 points
  3. 11 dogs and over: 25 points

BEST LOCALLY BRED IN SHOW – Straight points, regardless of numbers 30 points

BONUS POINTS

These points are awarded according to the complete number of dogs
(local and imported) competed against in the sex (for the CC) and in the
breed (for the Best of Breed), and the number of breeds competed
against in the group.
